Forgive me, but the 7th summer book must wait till tomorrow, because I had to tell you how much I love the covers of the Flannery O’Connor books. Aren’t they fabulous? The lines are clean and bold, the colors striking, and the subject matter intriguing. The snake encircling the peach and the peacock feathers are gorgeous. Some books are flashy and cheap, screaming “I’m interesting, right? Read me, read meee!” Instead, the O’Connor covers are confident and modest. They say, “want to know more? Just open the cover. It’s that simple.” Dang, what sly books.
